Ikaw Ang Kusog!

You can be sure that Nehemiah Team's trips are not your comfy vacations masquerading under the guise of a missions trip. With this project you are not chowing down on hamburgers and sleeping in air-conditioned hotels. You live with the people you are ministering to. Much of the time this means: sleeping on the ground, bathing in a river, washing your clothes in a bucket and eating lots of fish and rice. The purpose is to remove as many cultural barriers as possible, in order to more effectively share the Gospel. Another way we do this is by learning phrases and some times even songs of spiritual truth that are in their indigenous language. Click on the title "Ikaw Ang Kusog," to hear a song I learned several years ago. "Ikaw ang kusog" is Vasya for "You are the strength." There are ideas communicated in this song like, "all may come to heaven" and "His love is for all," that were many times brand new and life-chaging concepts for the people I sang to. However, in any language, grace has such a sweet, sweet sound!
